When you click the orange plus sign a form will pop up, you can submit details and photos/videos about your observations. Your photos/videos remain your property, if we wish to use them in papers or publications we will reach out to you.

Anyone can contribute to conservation science by adding their wildlife sightings to our map. You may submit any wildlife sighting from anywhere, not limited to the Bay Area. These are the focal species: Mountain Lion, Bobcat, Coyote, Gray Fox, Salmonids (Salmon and Trout), Beaver, and Burrowing Owls. When you submit a sighting it will be “pending” until we publish it to the map. Wildlife sightings we deem “sensitive” will be kept private. I.E. Burrowing Owl sightings, Salmon spawning locations, etc. Some sightings may be attributed to a general area vs exact location. We may reach out to you if we have any questions about your sighting.

Your data will guide our conservation efforts. With these sightings we hope to identify existing wildlife corridors, paths wildlife uses to get from one place to another, and locate areas in need of restoration or conservation. The location of roadkill is also important data to wildlife corridor science, please submit those as sightings and click the appropriate box. Areas where roadkill is common is often an indication of a wildlife corridor.

Thank you for contributing to conservation science!
